When the time comes to plan a party or gathering, many people choose an ID card template as the preferred method of printing. After all, it saves money and also allows them to be sure that everyone attending is an authorized user of the particular identification.

But are these ID cards really as secure as you would like them to be? Many people are concerned about the security and in particular how they will get hold of their cards. However, while it is true that they could be stolen, there are ways to make sure that your details remain safe even if this happens.

Size should not be a problem. By choosing a smaller ID card you are sure that your information will be safe, without compromising the aesthetic appeal.

Size and design are certainly two of the biggest factors that contribute to the safety of your information. If you use an ID card template with enough detail then it will help to make your information much more visible, particularly if you are trying to use it to demonstrate identity to the public.

If you want to print your card larger than is required then the ideal way to do this is to select a card size that is large enough to cover up any letters or numbers on the front but not so large that it gets in the way of readability. You should have at least seven lines on the card with each line including both the date and the ID card number. However, if you want to print an ID card template that contains more information you can add that to the card.

In Photoshop, the most important thing to remember is that the more information you add to your card, the more the picture will appear distorted. So, don't be tempted to try and use as many colours as possible. This can easily be done by using the blurring tool with a negative option.

The more times you look at the ID in Photoshop, the better quality of the design will become. As a result, it is important to experiment with the two options available to you when using the blurring tool _ the lower the opacity of the image, the better.

Then, you should try and cut the template into a shape that is of good quality. Do this by selecting the shape tool with the Rectangular Marquee tool and moving the cutter around until it resembles a card shape that you would expect to see.

Now that you have cut the template, you need to make sure that you take care of the areas where the picture was cut out so that there is no damage to the picture. It is best to go back to your card template, remove the damaged area, and then re_print the same template again to ensure that there is no loss of detail.

If you are printing a photograph, you will probably want to make it black and white or sepia. In Photoshop, the appropriate check box is usually found in the 'Image' menu, next to the 'Color' section.

In most cases, however, it is best to print the original photo or original black and white version of the picture first. This allows you to use the post_production to ensure that the picture is printed at the correct size and has been correctly sharpened.

To ensure that you are able to reproduce the ID design exactly, print the template and also make a note of the dimensions of the picture. This way you can work with the card template after it has been printed using the steps described above.
