Word processing programs such as Microsoft Word are very convenient. You can easily create resume templates with them. However, there is an important rule that you need to follow in order for your resume to look good on the computer screen. It is called the 'white space' and it makes your resume look more professional. But how do you create white spaces in Word?

To start with, you should open a new document in Word. You will find that it is like double clicking the desktop icon. Then, go to the bottom of the screen and click on the 'Start' button. Then you should click on the option 'Run'. You will see the option for selecting a file type, choose the default option 'Tagged'.

Now you have to choose a suitable template from the tool menu. There will be many to choose from, so you might want to browse through them. You need to look for a style that fits the kind of information you are going to put in the file. You can always download a sample resume template from the Internet and use it as a template.

Creating Word files containing your resume is relatively easy. There is a button called the 'Open' button which will open a blank document in Word. If you want to edit the resume, you should click on the word button and choose the editing option.

You will have to go to the section where you enter your personal and educational qualifications. You will then have to put your contact details in the boxes which are provided. After this, choose the format in which you want your resume to be written. Now you can add any other details such as your employment history and awards if you want. If you have included these details in the Word file, they will appear under the appropriate heading in your Word document.

The Word documents containing your resume can be opened in Excel by clicking on the option 'open file' and then choose the folder where you saved your resume. You should then click on the option 'import' to bring up the contents of the Word document. You will then have to click on the option 'sheets' to bring up the cells in your Word document. The columns of the spreadsheet will be shown in the order in your Word document. If you are using the template, you should modify the cells in order to create the layout of your own resume.

The formatting options in Word and in other Word files can be altered by the user. In most Word files, you can modify the fonts, the style sheets and the headings. You can also make use of the alternate fonts available for the names of the fields in your resume template. There are lots of other features which are available in Word and you should make the best use of them while designing a resume.

Creating resume in Word is not that complicated. You need to select the resume template that has all the options that you require to modify to meet your needs. In fact you can just add or delete the text according to your choice. There is no need to convert the Word document into a PDF.

You should also bear in mind the option of saving the Word document in different formats like Microsoft Word compatible (MS Office 2021), Word Perfect Pro, Open Office. There are free as well as paid versions of Word. The Open Office is free of cost. You can also download all the fonts from this website. But, you may find that the fonts are not in the standard size of the Word file.

You should always keep the file size of a Word document in mind. Otherwise, your resume template may look very bulky when opened on the screen. Resume templates or Word documents containing graphics, videos, and audio files are another interesting alternative for making resume. But, it is recommended that you should select the option of using only one graphic file and leave all the other documents to the side. Selecting the unnecessary graphic will not only increase the size of the resume, but also make the document look disorganized.
